Modular Type Workshop by A Letter Atelier

A 2-hour, analog workshop introducing attendees to modular type. With the materials provided, the participants will create a system of recurring shapes or similar, using scissors and sticker sheets to create letterforms. These can be in a script of choice. Each participant will have a notebook in which they can record their creations. The goal is to design a cover with either names, initials or words to indicate the nature of notes inside the notebook. Materials provided : Pencils Rulers Scissors Colourful and metallic sticker sheets and A6 notebooks (for take away). What is A Letter Atelier? ‘A Letter Atelier’ is an Indie type foundry and creative playground for collaboration, teaching and design-related experiments, launched by Namrata Goyal in 2026. Namrata is a type designer and consultant based in India. With nearly ten years of experience under her belt, she blends creativity and purpose-driven attention to detail in every project. She has been part of various teams working on font suites for prominent clients while also publishing her independent font projects via Future Fonts. She has collaborated on custom typography projects with independent designers and studios (/agencies) to bring their visions for brands to reality across sectors. Other than designing letters, she teaches workshops and type design modules for professionals and students in various design schools across India and abroad.
